Jim Edmonds ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Detroit Iron Gloves
defeated the Dyersville Jurassics 6 to 4 at the ballpark.
Edmonds had a big day at the plate. He clubbed a three-run home run in the
5th inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 37th of the season) in the 7th
inning. Dyersville threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
John Lackey(8-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 2
runs. Francisco Rodriguez got the save, his 13th. Jorge Sosa(0-5) absorbed
the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in his 6 innings.
'You have to give Dyersville credit, they fought us tough to the end' Mike
Wilson said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
